Voice of the Bard a novel of the Mythic Underground **American Title IV Finalist!**
|
Bard Anna Martin’s last assignment as a temp with the Bard Corps isn’t going
well. On her way to pick up Molly Bright, a mythic offender, she’s assaulted
by a troll made up of fairy’s flies, wrecks her knee running for her life, and
when she finally captures her quarry, finds that she’s the most annoying being
the gods ever made. And then her boss permanently assigns Anna to Virtue,
Indiana, the sleepy Midwestern town Anna escaped from as a teen. Barding,
keeping mythics secret and humans safe, is all she knows so she takes the
position. But when mythics start dying and the cute human mechanic next door
chips away at her famous romantic reserve, Anna knows she's way in over her
head. She'll have to grapple with a family legacy and face down her own demons
to keep her people safe, and maybe find a little happiness of her own.
Everyone on Kent Island, Maryland knew the legend of Chessie. The mysterious,
mythic sea monster had been spotted by boaters and fishermen for years, the
only proof of her existence in the grainy video and blurry photographs that
could have been anything. No one expected her battered corpse to wash up on
shore. It's up to Bard Anna Martin to discern what Chessie really is, and who
killed her.
